details
I recently quit my job in pharma-tech and am hoping to return to horses full time. I have experience working as an assistant trainer at a German-run dressage facility in the US (3 years). There, my duties included teaching lessons, managing all veterinary cases, starting and competing young horses, and daily management tasks in the stable. I also worked for Olympic eventers at the DOKR in Warendorf for a season - It was a great situation but could not stay longer due to visa limitations at the time. During that time, I started all of their young horses and flatted all of their competition horses, including stallions. I also presented horses for owners and clients. I do not market myself as a professional groom because I have never served in this capacity at an FEI level.
My ideal position would involve:
-boarding for own horse
-some training on own horse (e.g. 1 lesson/week with head rider?)
-a kind and drama-free team
-a facility geared towards high quality riding & training of eventers or jumpers
-located around the greater south-amsterdam area
-I am married and have the right to legally work in NL. Unfortunately, at this time, I don't yet speak Dutch (I am fluent in French, though!). I know my situation is a bit unusual
- I am no longer looking for a position with hundred-hour workweeks or on-site lodging, and I do want the ability to ride & train my own horse, + am not currently a Dutch speaker. However, I do feel I have a lot to offer to the right situation.
** Including:**
-i am highly dependable and motivated
-a positive, detail-oriented approach to horse care
-high level of stable management & vet case experience
-experience with stallions
-experience working for both grand prix dressage riders and 5* eventers
-capable of backing and starting young horses
-team player
-highly motivated (see e.g. reference to 100-hour workweeks) I know the "right" situation is probably hard to find, but I think a great match is out there! Can provide glowing recommendations.
Hope to hear from you soon!
